About This Ministry...

Who?

My name is Hugh C. Keith and I am the founder of Introspicere Ministries. I founded Introspicere in September of 1997 shortly after receiving my ordination from World Christianship Ministries. From my home in Walnut Creek, California, Introspicere's initial outreach to ministers began by providing free amateur web site design services to Christian ministries and organizations. The website design and maintenance portion of the ministry was retired in January of 2005.

What & Why?

"Who ministers to the ministers?" This ministry was born in response to that exact question.

The main purpose and goal of Introspicere is to be available to minister to and encourage Christian ministers who serve 'in the trenches' of every day life. A large organizational infrastructure does not necessarily equate to a vast amount of support. I served aboard a ship in the U.S. Navy with a Chaplain during a nine-month deployment to Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Although he was part of a large organizational structure (the Navy) and had a pre-existing support system (his denominational affiliation), he had no one to minister to and encourage him during his actual deployment. He exhausted himself day in and day out ministering to the needs of the crew, but who ministered to him? Although I didn't act on it until 1997, that personal experience was the ignition point of this ministry. No minister should ever feel so lonely.

Contrary to popular myth and folklore, ministers have tough days too; and for a variety of reasons sometimes pre-existing support systems are not so supportive.  While Christian ministers strive to support and serve the needs of everyone else around them, who supports them? Who is there for them when they have a really bad day and just need to let off some steam? Who makes themselves available to them to simply listen and pray with them? I want to be one of those people. I want to serve as a safe person whom you can talk to when you don't feel comfortable using your own pre-existing support system or when that system isn't available for you.

When and How?

As a bi-vocational minister I work full-time at a secular job to provide for my family, but my desire is to be available for ministry at all other times. My affiliation with the United States Corps of Chaplains and United Christian Faith Ministries further enhances my ability to enjoy ministering in the both the local and online community at large. I generally am easiest to reach by email to introspicere@yahoo.com, which I check and respond to on a regular basis. Whether by a simple email, picking up the phone for a chat or maybe even by showing up on your doorstep, it is my hearts desire to simply be available to minister to and encourage those who minister the love of Christ.
